The scale of circulation of commodity is expanding. In year 2003, total income of this city's consumer sales reached 5.54 billion Yuan. The added value realized by the tertiary industry is 6.09 billion Yuan, 35% of the city's GDP. There are 47 enterprises engaging in the circulation of commodities under the administration of municipal government with total capitals of 1.01 billion Yuan. All these enterprises realized a whole sales income of 2.2 billion Yuan with a year-on-year increase of 10 percent.

　　The modernization of circulation is accelerating. First of all, modern logistics and new business pattern develop rapidly. By the end of 2003, there are 215 companies adopting new business pattern, such as supermarket, chain shops, exclusive distribution and general agency. The sales income realized by the mentioned four types of business pattern hold up more than half of the sales income by the whole commerce sector. Secondly, modern logistics and commodity distribution started. There are several distribution center set up at high level with large scale and radius and a promising future such as the time supermarket distribution center, Hengfeng distribution center, Huafu distribution center and etc. there are 10 internal distribution units belonging to different chain shops, with their operational buildings of 20000 square meters and annual distributed goods worth 300 million Yuan. Thirdly, the market system is improving. There are 175 markets in this city, among which there are 29 specialized wholesale market, 146 consumer goods market. Annual total volume of business of all those markets reach 7.2 billion Yuan. There are 14 markets whose annual volume of business exceeds 100 million Yuan. Over the past several years, 450 million Yuan was invested by the commerce sector into construction of markets, with buildings of 28000 square meters become operational. With integration of urban and rural market, people in Tengzhou can enjoy abundant commodity supply and complete categories.
